SPECIAL TREATMENTS
Some carpets come with a soil-repellent treatment. None of these are permanent and need to be re-applied every few years. Consult your professional cleaning service about applying this treatment after cleaning. Some carpets come with a stain-repellent treatment that will resist acid-based stains (most dyes and food colorings). These are generally permanent but very hot water, including hot coffee & tea, can remove these treatments at the point of the spill. Also, “steam” cleaning that uses water which is too hot can remove these treatments. They cannot be re-applied on installed carpet.
